Sometimes a reboot manages to successfully bring a superhero encourage onto the big screen and picture them in a new spacious even if nevertheless staying valid to the source material. And after that theres wonderful Four, which was a indispensable and billboard bomb to the narrowing that it killed 20th Century Foxs forward-thinking plans for this iteration of Marvels First Family. Four years after wonderful Fours release, director Josh Trank has no matter later than trashing his own movie, as evidenced by this latest tweet.
This later than weekend axiom the release of Jordan Peeles Us, and later than many moviegoers, Josh Trank established to check it out. Unlike most moviegoers, though, Trank has a movie that was not well-received by the public, and evidently the passage of times has allowed him to poke fun at his times helming wonderful Four, as hes quite compliant declaring on Twitter that Us is the unmovable opposite of his 2015 movie. Thats not axiom much, although Us has indeed been met later than indispensable cheering and made exceeding $174 million worldwide hence far. If you have a out of the ordinary of watching one of these two movies, its pretty certain which one you should pick.
This comment follows a couple of weeks after Josh Trank responded preserve my beer to a tweet declaring that no superhero movie fails. It is valid that for the most ration nowadays, superhero movies are usually at least commercially successful, later than a fine ration of them as a consequence take effect well in the middle of critics. wonderful Four was not one of those movies, and even if much of the blame was placed at Tranks feet for its poor performance, the director wrote in a tweet deleted immediately thereafter that the unmovable cut of the movie was not the one hed planned on giving to audiences, indicating studio interference. In any case, Trank appears to have made friendship later than wonderful Four and doesn't have a problem making fun of himself for it, even if it doesnt unassailable later than we should expect more self-deprecating remarks from him anytime soon.
Originally the plan was for wonderful Four to kick off a new film series, later than the sequel coming out in June 2017. However, later than the movies disappointing performance, wonderful Four 2 was forward-thinking removed from the calendar and eventually cancelled. even if Fargo showrunner Noah Hawley has been working on a Doctor Doom movie, later than Fox now under the Disney banner, its hazy if that project will nevertheless assume concentrate on or if Marvel will put its own wonderful Four movie into onslaught that enlarged fits within the Marvel Cinematic Universe mythology. As for Josh Trank, his adjacent movie is Fonzo, which stars Tom Hardy as Al Capone as he wrestles later than dementia later than his stint in prison.
Stay tuned to CinemaBlend for any major updates re the adjacent chapter of the wonderful Four film franchise, but in the meantime, you can see through our Marvel movies lead to learn whats coming down the pipeline in Phase 4, as well as our 2019 release schedule to plan your trips to the theater forward-thinking this year accordingly.
Last times I'm gonna drag myself for a while.
