Disney has a large library of successful movies, and many of the ones from previously the year 2000 have either been adapted for liven up fake in recent years or will get such treatment in the future. We can increase Mulan upon this list, and even if we'll have to wait a little longer for it to reach in theaters, the Mouse house is heartwarming ahead in the same way as assembling the cast. Until today, the without help actor who'd been cast in the liven up fake Mulan movie was Liu Yifei, also called Crystal Liu, who will fake the eponymous protagonist. Now word has arrive in that one of her co-stars will be Rogue One: A Star Wars Story's Donnie Yen.
According to Deadline, Donnie Yen has been cast in Mulan as Commander Tung, who will be the heroine's mentor and teacher. even if Yen, an nimble martial artist, is arguably most well-known internationally for starring in the Ip Man film series, American audiences likely know him best for playing the blind warrior Chirrut mwe in Rogue One. in the same way as Yen now allowance of the Mulan cast, this marks his second collaboration in the same way as the Disney "family." Yen's new recent cinematic appearances increase Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: Sword of Destiny and xXx: compensation of Xander Cage.
Donnie Yen was one of Rogue One's highlights, as a result I'm looking take in hand to seeing him as one of Mulan's principal characters. It is worth noting, though, that there wasn't a Commander Tung in Disney's original Mulan. In the successful movie, Mulan served directly under Captain Li Shang, and his father, General Li, briefly appeared, but was vanguard slaughtered nearby his troops by Shan Yu's army. Disney's recent liven up fake adaptations have varied from subconscious relatively welcoming remakes to taking major creative liberties. It's too soon to tell which camp Mulan falls into, but the addition of this Commander Tung at least indicates that this won't be exactly in the same way as the Mulan we watched upon the huge screen 20 years ago.
Disney's liven up fake Mulan movie was first announced put up to in 2015, and in February of 2017, The Zookeeper's Wife director Niki Caro was tapped to helm the adaptation. Caro will be the second female director Disney has hired to take in hand a movie in the same way as a budget more than $100 million, Ava DuVernay preceding her in the same way as A Wrinkle in Time. even if music will nevertheless fake an important role in the new Mulan movie, it remains to be seen if this project will be a musical in the same way as the successful symbol or go in a alternative direction.
Mulan will be released in theaters upon March 27, 2020, putting it in competition in the same way as Paramount Pictures' G.I. Joe reboot that foundation weekend. Stay tuned to CinemaBlend for more updates nearly the movie, and if you're interested what new liven up fake adaptations Disney has in the works, check out our welcoming guide.
