We have heard that James Gunns Suicide Squad sequel will be something of a soft reboot or a relaunch of the franchise. And the more things develop, the more that rings genuine as the film is looking less and less behind it will resemble David Ayers 2016 film. It looks behind there will be definitely few returning characters and perhaps one less than we thought because Joel Kinnaman is reportedly out as Rick Flag in The Suicide Squad.
THR reports that some of the characters from Suicide Squad standard to recompense for the follow-up are Harley Quinn, Deadshot and Rick Flag. However, marginal of The Hollywood Reporters sources says that Rick Flag will not be in James Gunns film. suitably there is definitely some inscrutability about the situation, but fans should prepare for the possibility that the commander of the team in the first film will not be returning for the sequel.
Given this inscrutability about Rick Flags presence in James Gunns film, it makes you admiration if there is a scenario where Rick Flag the environment returns, but Joel Kinnaman does not take effect him. We just maxim this take effect out behind the environment of Deadshot. Will Smith could not reprise his role due to scheduling conflicts and now Heimdall himself, Idris Elba will replace him, hopefully giving the actor a meatier comic stamp album role.
That would potentially get into some weird territory though, if combined characters are played by rotate actors in the sequel even though Harley Quinn is still played by Margot Robbie. Recasting one environment is good (see raid machine in the MCU) but combined could get into a murky area that would just seem nice of weird. But if Rick Flag is not in the film at all as has been reported, that would gel behind the word that James Gunn will primarily be using DC characters that were not in the first movie.
Its difficult to tell how Rick Flags non-attendance will take effect the sequel, conclusive that we dont know what the report will be. The environment did take effect an important role in the first film, both as the leader and handler of the team and as the boyfriend of June Moone, who became the villain. But there are further major players who could fill his shoes suitably he doesnt have to return.
Harley Quinn and Deadshot were the standouts of the first film and the most visible, suitably those two environment behind the characters that must recompense and they supposedly are, albeit behind Idris Elba playing Deadshot. If Rick Flag is out it will be just marginal differentiator with the two films, and lend to the sequel's supposed organization as a soft reboot.
With all the changes, it does create you admiration if The Suicide Squad will even admit the deeds of the first film. Its all nice of fascinating because even though Suicide Squad was a vital failure, it was a hit at the bin office, suitably changing things taking place to such a degree could be risky.
That said, Warner Bros. seems to have a lot of faith in James Gunn to influence pieces almost and makes the movie he wants to create to hopefully duplicate the vital and poster execution he had behind Guardians of the Galaxy for the DCEU.
Well keep you updated as this movie comes together. The Suicide Squad opens in theaters on August 6, 2021. For movies you can see tackle to a tiny bit sooner, check out our 2019 liberty Schedule.

Did anyone else buy a shit ton of candy and then feel awkward and meta as you tried to eat it respectfully while watching this quiet ass movie!? I have like 3 bags of m&ms leftover and that never happens haha. Edit - maybe it was 300 bags of m&ms since I'm apparently a fat ass American because I mentioned eating candy at the movie theatre.
