Star Wars: The Last Jedi was both praised and criticized for the pretentiousness it took Star Wars in further directions, but that doesn't aspiration it wasn't strongly influenced by further parts of the franchise. Recently, a follower asked Rian Johnson his thoughts on the Mortis storyline from the Star Wars: The Clone Wars booming series, and Johnson revealed that he had specifically rewatched the episodes yet to be in his process of writing his script for The Last Jedi.
The storyline in question from Star Wars: The Clone Wars has Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and Asoka Tano transported to a puzzling world called Mortis that was inhabited by and no-one else three people, The Son, powerful in the Dark Side of the Force, The Daughter, equally powerful in the fresh Side, and The Father, who kept the credit in the company of them. The daddy has brought Anakin to the home in hopes he will replace The daddy as the keeper of credit once he dies. Eventually, all three of them actually die, which, in its own way, yet keeps the credit in the Force.
While Rian Johnson doesn't chat specifically roughly how these episodes influenced him, it's not difficult to look how. Johnson does call the episodes "gorgeous and boundary-pushing" and those are no question both things that would have to be said roughly Star Wars: The Last Jedi. though arguments yet abound roughly the movie overall, nobody is claiming the film isn't lovely or that Rian Johnson didn't shove the limits of what Star Wars had been stirring to that point. The entire idea of Mortis, a sort of booming manifestation of the Force, was something that had never been hinted at in the franchise before. It's entire existence potentially changes quite a lot roughly how you view the Force and Star Wars as a whole.
It's along with not difficult to look a association in the company of Kylo Ren and Rey and the Son and Daughter characters from The Clone Wars. Each one has thoroughly embraced their side of the Force, and though there may not be a familial association in the company of them, there is usefully a connection. In this analogy, I suppose Luke Skywalker becomes the Father, though a somewhat absentee one.
It shows just how huge Star Wars has become, once something once The Clone Wars, an booming series that spun off from the prequel trilogy, is nimble to come into its own to the reduction where it, in turn, inspires the next-door generation of films. Perhaps the series will continue to complete for that reason in the future, as it was recently announced that Star Wars: The Clone Wars will be returning once further seasons as ration of Disney's upcoming streaming service.
I rewatched these eps (on @dave_filonis advice) yet to be in the writing process, theyre for that reason gorgeous and boundary pushing.
