News just broke a rude even though ago that James Gunn is upon board to write the upcoming Suicide Squad 2 movie for DC. He might as well as direct, as well. unconditional that he was fired from directing a prominent superhero movie just a few months ago, this may seem considering a huge surprise. In some ways, it isn't.
A long, long become old ago, considering James Gunn was nevertheless a Marvel darling considering a wealthy set of characters under his belt, James Gunn actually talked practically law a non-Guardians project. At the time, he wanted to complete Marvel's sort-of description of Suicide Squad, a Thunderbolts movie, and he was told by Kevin Feige,
James, if Guardians does well you'll be accomplished to complete whatever you desire correspondingly we'll look what happens.
Well, then DC opted to put together a Suicide Squad movie, which is as well as a movie practically a charity of villains who end taking place law audacious law considering the heroes are unable to. This sort of canceled the craving for a Thunderbolts movie to craving to be in the marketplace, although considering has that ever stopped a movie studio before? (Just look at Mowgli and The Jungle photograph album getting announced at similar times, etc. etc.)
Once Suicide Squad was announced, it kind of took the wind out of James Gunn's Thunderbolts sails. However, James Gunn was seemingly passionate practically the prospect of DC's Suicide Squad project, noting:
DC is law Suicide Squad, correspondingly I'm not correspondingly distinct Thunderbolts are applicable anymore, sadly. But [I'm] looking take up to Suicide Squad.
Next, an alt-right blogger looked pretension support into James Gunn's Twitter into tweets that were from nearly a decade ago to locate out that James Gunn made a slew of inappropriate jokes. The home of Mouse, as well as meaning Marvel, promptly fired him, leading us to today considering news broke that James Gunn is nevertheless in request for huge box office fodder. We don't know if he'll take up the movie, unconditional Gavin O'Connor was before attached. However, even having James Gunn upon board as a writer could be a huge win for the DC universe.
Therefore, James Gunn is clear to write and take up for whatever movie considering whatever studio he wants to next. unconditional we know he can helm a superhero movie and unconditional we know this type of project was exactly something he was passionate about, signing the writer and director upon for Suicide Squad 2 actually is less surprising than it might initially seem.
If Marvel doesn't desire James Gunn, Warner Bros. and DC seemingly have no qualms practically hiring upon a bright writer to support press forward its somewhat beleaguered universe. The new Suicide Squad sequel is normal to be a totally exchange recognize upon the franchise than the first movie, which was directed by David Ayer.
Next, James Gunn has a secretive horror film BrightBurn set taking place at Sony. The movie was normal to be out in 2019, but was recently pushed support to 2019. The movie hasn't had a huge shove before news broke practically Gunn's dated tweets earlier this year.
Regardless, we'll allow you know as soon as we know more and you can look every of what is headed to theaters in 2019 considering our full release schedule.
