Warning: enormous SPOILERS ahead for Avengers: Infinity War! door ahead at your own risk!
If you have seen Avengers: Infinity War, after that you already know the devastation that occurs. Thanos snaps his fingers, unleashes the full power of the Infinity Stones and wipes out half of every vibrancy in the universe. The Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy ranks have been depleted, which means there's room for further characters to enter the equation.
We already know that characters afterward Hawkeye and Ant-Man are acknowledged to con up, but that raises further questions virtually the side characters that we may see. upon that note, and afterward less than a year to go until Avengers 4's May 3, 2019 freedom date rolls around, we're diving into the elongated Marvel Cinematic Universe roster to figure out which MCU characters could make bewilderment appearances in the perfect Phase Three movie. We have pulled out 12 of the most likely candidates, so let's acquire started afterward one of the MCUs most beloved personalities.
Phil CoulsonOne of the men who started it all, Phil Coulson has been a fundamental element of the MCU ever previously his first way of being in Iron Man. The mood was seemingly killed in The Avengers, but as any aficionado of Marvel TV will tell you, he lives upon as an Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. We already know that Coulson will recompense to the silver screen side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe next-door year afterward the 1990s-set Captain Marvel debuts in March, and afterward so many alternative scheme threads coming to a head two months unconventional afterward Avengers 4 debuts, it would seem to make absolute suitability to provide him a scene in the perfect Phase Three movie. After all, afterward Nick Fury and Maria Hill gone, Coulson is every we have left.
The DefendersThis one seems afterward a long shot, but stay afterward me. Earth's Mightiest Heroes took a enormous beating during the undertakings of Avengers: Infinity War, and a major offensive took place in further York City. Even if the film side of the Marvel Cinematic Universe never acknowledges the existence of The Defenders heroes, the fact of the concern is that they yet exist in this world. perfect how desperate our heroes look at the end of Avengers: Infinity War, it's difficult to imagine that characters afterward the feat power of Daredevil and Iron Fist or the raw power of Jessica Jones and Luke Cage wouldn't be welcomed into the fold. If ever there was a get older to bridge the gap in the midst of film and TV, it's right now.
ValkyrieValkyrie was one of the coolest standout players during the undertakings of Thor: Ragnarok, but she was nowhere to be found afterward Thanos attacked the Asgardian refugee vessel in Avengers: Infinity feat (the implication inborn that he allow the hard-drinking warrior live). Thor Odinson was able to bring her out of hiding during their last adventure, which maxim her re-adopt her antiquated mantle as one of Asgard's greatest warriors. afterward the single greatest threat ever to turn the universe looming, it seems diagnostic to understand that Thor could afterward once again bring her put up to to pad the ranks of The Avengers and add unconventional power player to the roster. higher than that, most likely she will finally be able to coax Hulk out of Banner?
Peggy CarterPeggy Carter is an interesting mood to examine because there are several alternative ways for the Marvel Cinematic Universe to bring her put up to in Avengers 4. One mannerism would be for us to look yet unconventional hallucination, not unlike the one seen in Avengers: Age of Ultron. However, unconventional practicable unconventional would be for us to look Steve Rogers actually go put up to in get older to be afterward Peggy Carter in World feat II and acquire that dance that they talked virtually previously he crashed Red Skull's plane into the Atlantic Ocean. afterward the get older stone in play, lovely much anything is possible, which means death is not plenty to end Peggy from making her mannerism put up to to the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Laura BartonThere's a explanation why Hawkeye didn't battle alongside The Avengers in Avengers: Infinity War. He became a full-blown relatives man and was retired afterward his wife and kids. Alas, we already know that Avengers 4 is going to look Hawkeye recompense to battle (possibly under the publicize Ronin this get older around), which means something will likely have to happen to his relatives in order for him to choose in the works his trusty bow afterward more. We don't necessarily know if this means Laura Barton or one of his children will die, but we generally expect to look something worrying happen upon the Barton relatives homestead, which will ultimately pave the mannerism for Clint to arrive back.
Hank PymThe Ant-Man corner of the Marvel Cinematic Universe will categorically receive more exploration now that Avengers: Infinity feat is in the rearview. Scott Lang and hope Van Dyne will finally team in the works in Ant-Man and The Wasp unconventional this summer, and the assumption is that they will after that go upon to colleague The Avengers in Avengers 4. However, if Hank Pym survives the undertakings of Ant-Man and The Wasp, it would seem reasonable to understand that he may con in the works to lend a hand as well. Remember, Hank isn't just a former hero in his own right; he's furthermore a sharp scientist afterward entry to the Quantum Realm. He could be an invaluable accomplice in the coming battle.
NakiaDespite the fact that so much of Avengers: Infinity feat takes place upon Black Panther's home turf, there are a few key Wakandan members of the Black Panther cast missing. Chief along with these absent characters is Nakia, who is nowhere to be found afterward the Black Order and the Outriders con in the works to lay siege to the African nation -- which makes a positive degree of sense, as she's a globetrotting spy. That said, despite the logic at the back her absence, Nakia is a fundamental element of the Black Panther lore in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it abandoned seems diagnostic for Avengers 4 to potentially find a mannerism to count up her and agreement afterward the fallout of T'Challa's untimely demise.
Happy HoganAnother Phase One mainstay, glad Hogan has featured prominently in every stage of the Marvel Cinematic Universe so far, albeit afterward a condensed role as the years have afterward by, as Jon Favreau has become increasingly successful elsewhere. Happy's most recent way of being in the MCU came last year afterward he took upon the role of Peter Parker's "internship" advisor in Spider-Man: Homecoming, and it's positive that he has continued to con alongside afterward Tony and Pepper for years, afterward their goodwill dating as far away put up to as the 1990s. Avengers 4 represents the peak of a lot of alternative storylines, and it would abandoned seem fitting for the MCU to bring put up to glad for unconventional a breath of fresh air to round out his arc.
SifThe Asgardian ranks have been seriously depleted higher than the course of the last few years, afterward lady Sif standing out as one of the positive causalities of war. The mood was nowhere to be seen during the undertakings of Thor: Ragnarok (despite the deaths of the on fire of Thor's friends) and the Russos recently came out and declared that she was one of the beings erased from existence at the end of Avengers: Infinity War. That said, it's generally acknowledged that some of the people killed by Thanos at the end of Avengers: Infinity feat will return, and lady Sif seems afterward a mood who could be incredibly obliging (not to citation well-liked afterward fans) if resurrected for the coming fight.
Everett RossLike many of the characters upon this list, we yet have no idea if Everett Ross survived the finger snap that evaporated half of every vibrancy in the known universe. Nevertheless, if he did survive the undertakings of Avengers: Infinity War, after that it stands to explanation that he has officially gotten to con upon cleaning in the works Thanos' mess and figuring out what happened. In many ways, Ross has arguably taken upon the role previously held by Phil Coulson in the earlier years of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and the Black Panther mood could be a principal dealing out liaison in the mission to rally the enduring Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy in preparation for the coming counterassault.
Dr. Helen ChoHelen Cho abandoned has one notable MCU way of being under her belt, but her importance to the overarching Marvel Cinematic Universe landscape cannot be overstated. Her way of being in Avengers: Age of Ultron maxim her actually make Vision though under Ultron's control, and the film ends afterward her leftover after inborn freed from the mind control. Helen is a sharp scientist and one of Earth's most skilled minds, which could make her a key ally as the Phase Three savings account builds to a climax. higher than that, if there's any unintended that Vision could arrive back, she's probably one of the few people that Earth's Mightiest Heroes could turn to in order to make that a reality.
May ParkerLastly, we round out our list of MCU characters who could appear in Avengers 4 afterward one of the most worrying of the bunch: May Parker. Peter Parker's fond aunt abandoned recently found out virtually his status as the kind neighborhood Spider-Man at the end of Spider-Man: Homecoming, and if she survived Thanos' finger snap at the end of Avengers: Infinity War, after that she's going to bewilderment why Peter didn't arrive home from university afterward people started to fade away. She already has large quantity of excuses to distrust and despise Tony Stark (enabling a juvenile superhero that you're grating to guard will get that), so something tells us that there's large quantity of the theater for Marvel to mine by exploring how May will react to Peter's "death."
