Some big things are brewing over in the DCEU. In adjunct to the debut of Zachary Levi in David F. Sandberg's Shazam!, there's next the solo Black Adam movie starring Dwayne Johnson that has been in develop for quite some time. The film hasn't taken many notable steps focus on recently, but Johnson recently addressed the film's cast and noted that we might actually see other DC superheroes perform up in cameo roles. The Skyscraper star explained:
Without giving anything away, there might be maybe a cameo or two of some of the other DC superheroes. We'll see. That's been the beauty of Black Adam as we've been developing it is that we could make a movie that just stood on its own too as well, but that's next the beauty of those universes coming together at DC.
So, the main idea here seems to be that Dwayne Johnson wants to make his Black Adam movie a standalone adventure. That said, per the actor's remarks during his recent interview later Filmstarts, he recognizes the benefits of an interconnected universe later the DCEU, consequently he sees the potential for DC heroes to perform up and perform roles in the story.
This raises the ask of which heroes could conceivably perform up in a Black Adam solo movie. One obvious different is Shazam himself, as the two are arch nemeses, even though other options improve Superman, Batman, shock Woman, or even a hero who has nevertheless to actually premiere in the DCEU -- such as Nightwing or Batgirl.
It's not necessarily surprising that The stone would have the success to acquire more movie stars over to his particular film. The wrestler-turned-actor has helpfully become one of the most bankable performers in Hollywood, and his skill has helped boost a large number of franchises later Jumanji and G.I. Joe. over that, he is already gearing up for a spinoff of the quick and irate franchise later Jason Statham, and the Hobbs and Shaw spinoff recently cast Idris Elba as its main villain. In layperson's terms, the guy has his hands in a lot of vary franchises, and he can acquire skill from all over if he wants it.
With all of that said, we're nevertheless left to shock what a Black Adam movie could see like. Even later the liberty of Suicide Squad back up in 2016, the DCEU hasn't unqualified many supervillains that much room to believe center stage and tummy their own solo movies, even though some other projects in develop echo the style of Black Adam. This could be a groundbreaking concern for DC if it works and bringing other DC heroes into the fold could represent a necessary step towards making clear that it works.
CinemaBlend will bring you more assistance joined to the Black Adam movie as other details joined to the project are made handy to us. Until then, make clear to catch Dwayne Johnson in Skyscraper, which will debut in theaters on July 12.
